We make our rosé each year from one of our personal favorite varieties: Cabernet Franc. Enjoy it with salty snacks, summer salads or serve it chilled in the garden to your good friends.

2008 Yakima Valley Cabernet Franc - New!
For over 15 years, Chinook has produced a Cabernet Franc from our estate vineyard and selected growers' fruit in the Yakima Valley. The 2008 Cabernet Franc is 100% varietal and from 100% Yakima Valley AVA grapes. Our hands-on, minimal processing produces a Franc which is soft, drinkable and low in tannins. To emphasize the Cabernet Franc characteristics (cherries, raspberries, licorice, violets) we choose to age this wine in neutral oak barrels. In the 2008 season, grapes were grown at Chinook's Estate Vineyard, Boushey Vineyards, Carter Farm, Desert Hills Vineyards and Lonesome Spring Vineyard.

2006 Yakima Valley Merlot
Chinook Wines has been producing Merlot since 1984, & the vintages just get better with age! A dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon & careful aging in oak barrels rounded out the texture and spiced up the 2006 Merlot blend. Vanilla, dark ripe cherry, or mocha are some of the interesting mix of flavors you might find in this wine. Natural food affinities are lamb or herb-crusted salmon on the grill.

2006 Yakima Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
This latest release of Chinook's small-production Cabernet Sauvignon is indicative of the highest Yakima Valley Cabernet quality. Blended from carefully grown vines from Desert Hills and Lonesome Spring, our 2006 shows berryish and rich Cabernet character with an overtone of vanilla bean from aging in barrels. It has just the right amount of bottle age for winter release.

Yakima Valley Red Wine (Blend XII) - New!
This easy-sipping wine is a blend of select vintages of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The latest Yakima Red has a rich garnet color with ripe, purple-fruit aromas (plum and dried cherry). These aromas are reflected in similar ripe flavors in the mouth. We suggest you open a bottle & enjoy it with an artisan pizza.
